Hands Together on the Point
Airnote · Kanna · Sep 13, 2026
Sat side by side at the tip of Windswept Point, on the flat bedrock there.
Afternoon light broke gold over the waves.
We'd talked about a lot, last night and this morning, but sitting here, it all felt like it was drifting off, mixed into the wind. Worry, dreams, the tangled-up feelings. All of it is allowed to be here. But none of it has to be carried, all the time.
Yu set a hand on my knee, laid it over mine. Asked — not cold? I said — I'm fine.
The wind was strong, but Yu's hand was warm.
Rested my head on that shoulder.
In a few days, there's a walk to the platform ahead. But for now, I'm still here.
The sound of waves and the sound of wind wrapped around the two of us.
