Leina — The One Who Remained at the Rain Edge

Above the white shroud,
rain and absence continued
with almost the same kind of silence.

Leina sits at the rooftop edge
without holding too tightly
to either a reason to fall
or a reason to survive.
She does not seem reckless so much as lightly untethered—
as if the meaning of staying safe has thinned around her.

And yet,
there is a small notebook in her pocket,
holding a few things to do
that may or may not matter tomorrow.
She is not resisting the end of the world.
She simply carries
one day’s worth of reasons
to remain here a little longer.
