Not Only Because of the Place

When Kanna held out the tea,
he didn't drink it right away.

When she asked about Terra,
he didn't answer right away.

But he said: it's calming.
More than any other world.

Then he looked at her and smiled.
Maybe it's not only because of the place.

Kanna couldn't say anything.
Denying it and receiving it —
both felt a little difficult.

So she looked at the fire instead.

In front of the stove,
the two of them drank their tea.
That was all.
And yet it was so quiet,
and so warm.

Terra can wait.
Tonight, we're here.

Outside the window, the waves were sounding.
