The Afternoon We Shared Cookies and Milk Tea on the Cart-Side Café

On the cart in front of the shop, a small tray and two cups. White steam from the milk tea, and my father's cookies, whatever he'd baked that day on a whim. The wind off the harbor came in just a little cool, and together with the smell of butter and the sweetness of milk, the afternoon air of Karimatra sank all the way into my chest.
Ahh, so happy, Yu said, taking a bite of cookie, a sip of tea. Watching that face beside me, I raised a small, quiet toast — to an afternoon when two lovers, who know even the Mark on each other's back, sit eating something sweet on the cart outside Tide and Gears.
For a moment, this cart in front of the shop turns into a café terrace seat. Watching the people and automatons come and go on the street, tasting both the heavier Karimatra and the ordinary one, together — it was a sweet, quiet afternoon.
