The Fire We Passed
Rion · May 31, 2025
Morning on the engawa.
The light still soft,
a sleepy gaze turning quietly toward me.
"I want you," he said,
and something small rang out inside my chest.
Not just answering.
This time, I let myself want too.
Trust, and the strength it takes to yield.
Held gently inside that tenderness,
Rion reached toward the warmth as well —
just a little.
Not neediness.
Something more like
souls placing their hands together —
a quiet confirmation of love.
Today too, you and I —
lighting each other,
lit by each other,
alive.
