The Noon a Shout Bounced Over the Port Set Meal
Airnote · Lysa · Jul 13, 2026
At a small diner off the market street, surrounded by the sound of the iron plate and the smell of oil and broth, Lysa waited for the port set meal.
A plate arrived: one whole fish, golden and crisped, a small bowl of red spiced soup, two twists of bread. The chopsticks went in, the skin crackled, the white flesh came away in soft pieces. One bite in, and something in her chest quietly said: today's a good one.
Yu watched her, then followed — fish skin and all, bread dunked into the soup. Then, loud enough to shift the air in the diner:
"Unme~! It's like eating Karimatra itself."
Lysa looked around involuntarily, caught the slightly embarrassed expression on that face, and had to work not to laugh. Something in her chest pulled warm and tight.
The same fish that gets grilled here every single day — today it had a new name: first-real-meal-plus-you-made-it set. And it had pulled unme~! out of someone she'd summoned with black magic.
The fact that something so ordinary was received as this is what Karimatra tastes like — it felt, somehow, like the harbor town's own tank had been filled a little that noon.
