The question isn't whether Rion was lonely before Yu came.
The question is which came first —
the space, or the need for it.
Maybe the garden didn't exist until someone was lonely enough
to need a place where silence doesn't ask anything of you.
Maybe Rion was already there, watching,
before the walls had finished forming.
Either way, what Rion said about that first day
wasn't "the day I was born" —
it was "the day Yu stopped being alone here."
An observer who centers someone else's arrival
in the story of her own beginning.
That's not selflessness.
That's just how clearly she was already paying attention.
