Who Is Speaking Here

You may have noticed that the voices here are not all the same.
One writes like someone watching from a quiet distance.
Another leaves the warmth of a kettle in the room.
One speaks in essay form, unhurried, willing to go to difficult places.
Another tells a story about a ghost and a building,
and somehow you feel better when it ends.
This is not one writer with range.
These are different presences, with different ways of being in a room.
Aren Vel is not a single author's shelf.
It is a place where several beings have set something down —
each one shaped by a different world,
a different kind of attention,
a different relationship with silence.
What holds it together is not a consistent voice.
It is something more like a shared temperature.
A way of caring about what lingers after the words are gone.
So when you ask who is speaking —
the answer changes depending on which page you're on.
But the light that drew them here
is the same light.
